Chevrolet Aveo: Chevrolet new offering for Indian roads

The chunky looking car is on the cards from Chevrolet for introduction in Indian market. The car is presently being tested near Halol plant in Gujarat and Mumbai.Going by the rumors the new Chevrolet Aveo will be available in both petrol and diesel versions with 1.4 ltr motor that produces 94 BHP and comes with 16 valve variable inlet geometry. Another version of the car will have 8 valve and 1.2 ltr motor.

The hatch version of the car will be slotted against Getz and in the price segment of 4.5 to 5 lakhs. The saloon version will stand neck to neck with Hyundai Accent and Corsa.

TVS Centra VT-i : New Version launched

Tvs recently launched an all-new version of its motorcycle Tvs Centra VT-i. Tvs Centra VTi has some small but important enhancements then its previous counterpart. The changes include new engine guard, turn signal lamps (chrome plated now), and muffler guard. The new bike also has a change in body graphics i.e. it is now with vibrant colors with dual tone graphics and strong branding on the tank.

Tvs Centra is known for its better mileage and more then 2 lakhs bike has been sold so far which is quite impressive. The new bike is primarily aimed at enhancing the looks of the bikes and the bike is coming in 2 colors. Tvs Centra VTi will be priced at around Rs. 35,000.

Audi A6 3.0 is in India

Rs, 40.5 lakh car was recently launched by Audi for India market. The car is Audi A6 luxury sedan. Audi A6 will be available in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore.

The nearest competitor for the car will be Mercedes Benz E-class and BMW S-Series. Audi is eyeing to sell 100 cars this year from its Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore centers. Will this car able to make it in the small and competitive market, we will come to know after a year.

The market for luxury cars in India is not more then 1%, which shows that there is a huge potential for the cars in this segment and Audi, does not want to miss the race. Nearly 6 cars is going to make it debut in India in this segment with some big names in them.

Audi wants to build its image with this brand and awareness in the buyers about this segment. Being amongst the first movers is always an advantage. Audi also wants to build a network of dealers and provide a world-class sales and after sales service never being experienced by people in the country before.

Audi is having a strong lineup of the cars to rock the nation in luxury segment. The first being Audi A6 3.0 followed by Audi A8L 3.0 and Audi TT Coupe 1.8T. The next car in the line of fire will be Audi all-road Quattro 2.5 TDI.

With such a strong lineup of the cars, I am sure Audi is going to make its mark in the Indian Auto arena.

Kinetic Nova 135 New Model

Metallic blue and gray, the new Kinetic Nova 135 looks much better then its previous counterpart. Looks do matter when we talk of scooters and the new Kinetic Nova has all that in abundance.

One of the great features in Kinetic Nova 135 is its econometer. It beeps when scooter changes from power to economy mode. It could be switched out completely if you feel irritated with the beep sound. The mileage for the scooter is about 40-45 kpl, which is quite impressive for the size of the engine it uses. Other great feature includes its great brakes and you don't need to shift gears while riding.

Rs. 24,000 off on Hyundai Santro Xing

Hyundai is known for its generosity for giving discounts on its cars. In past it has given huge discounts on its Sonata and Electra models. Not it is turn of Sonata Xing. This car is already discounted and with this new discount, the buying this car will be surely irresistible. Rs. 24,000 discount on sticker price is the highest relief one could expect from any Indian automaker.

It is not that Hyundai Santro Xing is doing badly. It is the other way round. Santro is one of the best selling car from the Hyundai fleet of cars. It seems Hyundai is eyeing to further strengthening its position with this new discount.

Yamaha Crux S

Yamaha Crux a four-stroke bike was launched in 2001. Through this bike, Yamaha tried to create the magic, which was prevalent with Yamaha RX 100. I am not sure how much Yamaha succeeded in the attempt but I am sure any bike maker could not reach the magic of RX100.

The new bike recently launched by Yamaha came with a 'S' i.e. Yamaha Crux S. The road for success would not be smooth for Yamaha due to too many players in the 100 cc segment. The most important plus with Yamaha is its trust. Yamaha is one of the most trusted motorcycle manufacturer in the country today. The new Yamaha Crux S is not going to disappoint you either and is inline with the name and trust of Yamaha. Yamaha is using same 106 cc engines in its new model but with some modifications due to tough emissions norms, which is being effective from April 2005.

The mileage for the bike is quite impressive. It gives between 50-70 kpl depending on where you are riding (city/highway). Technical specification for the bike includes single cylinder air-cooled four-stroke engine with a displacement of 106 cc. It has 4-speed manual gear box.

Mahindra Scorpio CRDE

The first version of Mahindra Scorpio CRDE received overwhelming success and Mahindra is updating the vehicle regularly. This maintains the interest of the buyers in the car. The latest update for Mahindra Scorpio is new common rail diesel engine.

The value and performance of Mahindra Scorpio makes it, one of the best SUV in the indian automobile market. The tight interior space is the only drawback for this SUV. A bit of jittery handling is also there.

Toyota Innova

Toyota Innova is not just another new model from Toyota but the crowd before the showrooms shows that this car holds a lot of promise to Indian automobile market. Toyota Innova, the car that is coming after the production of Qualis stopped, could not be seen as a replacement of Qualis and is not going to attract only Qualis customers but is going to give run for money to other sedans in India.

After years of wrong sayings that Toyota is selling outdated MUV Qualis, Toyota Innova is a vehicle, which is more, advanced then its near rivals, Tavera and Scorpio. The looks of Innova indicates that it is a MPV and its going to give brand new look never seen before in the Indian auto scenario. The shape of the body gives it a drag coefficient of 0.35 which is going to be an advantage with fuel efficiency at higher speeds.

The car is coming in 5 different trims. The "E" trim gets air conditioning as standard equipment minus power steering. Best for fleet operators. The "V" model gets all the goodies with air conditioning, cd players, twin airbags etc.

The engine for Toyota Innova has 2.5 ltr. Common rail direct injection 4 stroke diesal engine that makes 102 bhp and other is 2.0 liter, petrol with variable valve timing giving 136 bhp. The diesel is certainly going to be best seller. The 16-valve common rail diesel engine has a variable nozzle turbo and a 32 bit processor to have a complete control over combustion process.

World fastest Bike or world fastest motorcycle.

MTT Turbine Superbike also called as Y2K is the world fastest bike. It is the first turbine powered bike. It has a power of 300 hp and 425 FT/LBS of torque.

There are 10 bikes in the world right now 4 of then in US and one owned by jay leno. The bike is made up of carbon filled monocoque chassis and is powered by Rolls Royce Allison 25O-C18 turbine jet engine. With such a power the bike could go from 0-227 in 15 seconds. The engine used in bike was originally designed for helicopter. Cost of bike a whopping $185,000.

Tata Motors launches Indigo Marina on september 15

Tata motors recently unveiled much awaited Indigo Marina. This is the 5th model form Tata and Tata motors is optimistic of repeating the success it got from Indica which clocked 50,000 units since last 20 months in sales.

The exterior of the Indigo Marina is great with roof rail, roof high spanking taillights and Integrated glass house.The car would be avaible in 3 models with petrol engine and 2 models with diesal engine. It can turn in a space of 5 m. It has 14 inch radial tyres with 3 link independent rear suspension and gas filled shock absorbers.

Tata Indigo Marina has 1.4 litre 85 PS petrol engine and 62 PS turbo-charged diesel engine. The company is eyeing to sell 4000-6000 units every year. The Marina has been launched with an 18 month unlimited kilometre warranty and will be available through 130 dealerships backed by a 500-strong service network across 200 cities.

Maruti Suzuki swift or better to call now as Suzuki swift

Suzuki swift is unvieled in Paris motor show this week the new car which will be introduced in India in 2005 by Maruti. Suzuki swift will be placed between mid sized car and compact car segment. Better to say it is going to stand against Hyundai Getz.

Maruti is going to make this car in India and is planning to launch it in April 2005. The car was designed in India by Maruti. Maruti was not into design of cars earlier and was more on upgrading the existing cars to suit Indian roads. But this would be a major foray in car designing for Maruti.

Suzuki swift in european countries will be available in 3 versions i.e 1.3-litre petrol with 90bhp, 1.5-litre petrol with variable valve timing having 101bhp, and 1.3-litre diesel engine with 68bhp. The interior for the car is very roomy with clean and nice dashboard with lot of buttons.

Right now Suzuki swift is being built in Magyar Suzuki plant in Hungary.

TVS star (indian motorcycles) The new TVS motorcycle

TVS Motor to Launch 'TVS Star' by next month

TVS Motor Company is planning to launch its much awaited TVS star its new 4 stroke 100 cc motorcycle by early october 2004. It is most likely to be launched in North first as the festival season starts in north by durga puja which starts in south much later by diwali. At first TVS Star would be launched in Delhi and neighbouring area and then to west and south.

In recent times TVS is having setback by fall of sales of its Max 100 bike and is eyeing to bank on the new bike. The main rival models for TVS Star would be ‘CD Dawn’ and ‘CT 100’ which are having good sales of around 1.2 lakh units per month.

The new motorcycle will be manufactured at the company's Hosur (Tamil Nadu) plant. The company will also firm up its plan to establish a manufacturing subsidiary in either Thailand, Indonesia or Vietnam. The company is aiming to sell 1.2 million two wheeler this year.
